CONSULT RECAP
We’ve had a steady flow of consults lately. I love having these little virtual meet-cutes where I can pop in and out of homes all over the country to meet and see and peep what everyone’s got goin’ on.
First up, sweet Wendi in Alabama. She is working on furnishing and finishing an addition just made to a lake house she shares with her husband. They don’t live there full time but when they do, they often have company. She wanted light, fun, comfortable and seating for 15! I suggested back to back sofas, a large patterned rug and durable fabrics for upholstery. The room is covered in windows on three sides so she needed a drapery fabric that would bring the pattern (solid, neutral walls) but not break the bank. We found this pink floral block print and love how it played with the blue. She really wanted bright colors - “hot pink” - but since that’s not a pink in my vocabulary we settled for this hue!

Next up, a client who moved from the city to a more bucolic spot in New Jersey. She was completely stuck trying to work with some existing pieces in her new space. We worked on both her family room and her dining room and ended with making only a couple of tweaks to her existing foundation and then building on it to create context.
