Episode 91
THE FINAL LAYER
Our team is gearing up for another photoshoot, this time in Athens, Georgia and I’m especially excited to share. These clients are ones I’ve worked with since 2020 and I’ve had the privilege of watching their family grow alongside their home, which makes this project feel particularly meaningful.
For this shoot, I decided to forego bringing in a stylist and instead keep it in-house. I wanted to share a bit more of our process- how I think through styling and the pieces we’ve sourced to bring that final layer to life.
A home can feel finished enough in person, but photographing it is something else entirely. What reads beautiful to the eye doesn’t always translate through the lens. Spaces flatten. Contrast softens. Details that felt intentional can disappear. That’s where styling comes in. The goal is the same, to create spaces that feel layered, natural, and quietly intentional.
For this shoot, we focused on a few key categories:
Vessels & Planters
These are some of the hardest-working pieces on a shoot. We use them to introduce height, shape, and organic movement—whether through florals, branches, or simply the silhouette itself.
Upholstery, Rugs & Lighting
This layer is what grounds the room. A scalloped rug, a pleated shade, a skirted chair…
